At
the age of five she got her first violin, and at the age of
six, her first pupil
(a childhood friend who didn’t find the lessons very inspiring!) Since
then, becoming a musician and a teacher has been the dream that
has spurred Mia along.
Sometimes the piano and jazz music seemed the most interesting
way to go, sometimes it was singing, but the violin won in the
long run. Folk music has always been a natural part of her life.
First through her father who is a fiddler, and then through inspirational
sources such as Mats Berglund, Ellika Frisell, Mikael Marin and
Sven Ahlbäck.
Besides the repertoire Mia plays from
her home county of Värmland,
she plays a lot of tunes from Norway, Uppland and Gästrikland.
One of her greatest interests is to compose and arrange music.

The best thing about playing with Petter and Hanna is that you
can suggest just about anything during the arrangement process.
They can perform anything with their
instruments.
